HOME IS WHERE MY BED IS

My Journey

I left home for the first time when I was sixteen. I did not fully understand how much that decision would shape me, but it started a life that has been full of movement, growth, and figuring things out as I go.

As a Nigerian woman, my relationship with identity has always felt layered. I come from a family shaped by different cultures and expectations, which has influenced how I see belonging, relationships, and even myself. Leaving home so young meant learning to be independent quickly.

Since then, life has taken me through Wales, Sweden, and now Denmark. Each place has changed me in ways I am still unpacking. Wales was where I learned how to stand on my own. Sweden was where I started asking deeper questions about who I am and where I fit. Denmark is where I’m currently trying to build stability while still allowing myself to grow and change.

I have always turned to creativity to understand life. I paint when emotions feel too complicated to explain. I love nature photography because I feel ONE with nature. Writing has become the place where I’m most honest with myself. I’m currently working on a memoir that explores identity, migration, womanhood, and the idea of home.

I also love reading. Books have followed me through every move, every new city, and every version of myself.

Outside of creativity, I’m learning how to build a life that feels steady and kind to myself.

This blog is not a space where I have everything figured out. It is where I document life as it happens. The good decisions, the confusing ones, and the moments that quietly change me.

I’m twenty seven, living in Denmark as an expat, still learning what home means for me, and still becoming.
